Scan a barcode

Scanning a barcode and reading a barcode are synonymous. You will need some hardware to accomplish this task. If you are experimenting or just need to scan a few barcodes to see what is inside then you may be able to leverage your phone. Otherwise you need to consider the destination you want to deliver the scanned data. This may dictate using a mobile computer with a built in scanner or something as simple as a wired or Bluetooth scanner hooked to a pc.
